| Welcome to the Tennessee PTA website! I am honored and delighted that you have elected me to serve as your Tennessee PTA State President for 2007-2009. We are here to provide support, training, networking and to assist your PTA as needed. Do not hesitate to call on me or any other state board member for advice or to request training. The Tennessee PTA Board of Managers met recently and decided upon several goals for the next two years. One of those goals is to raise awareness of childhood fitness and wellness. I encourage your PTA to plan programs and projects that address this goal. We owe it to our kids to teach them healthy food choices and to help them stay physically fit. We know that many of Tennessee’s children are overweight and or obese, so let us join together to reverse this trend. Join a local PTA or TALL (Tennessee At Large Local Unit) and get involved for the benefit of Tennessee’s children, youth and families. Take the pledge to volunteer “Three for Me,” one of National PTA’s new parent and family involvement programs. There is strength through numbers as we advocate for every child with one voice! Take the President's Challenge!!! |
